What Type of Transmitter do I have?

Rolling Code Transmitters

Produced after 1996, rolling code transmitters change the coded signal each time the garage door opener is used. If there is no row of coded switches beneath the battery cover, it is a rolling code transmitter.

Fixed Code Transmitters

Produced prior to 1996, fixed code transmitters are manually programmed. To determine if your transmitter is fixed code, remove your battery cover. If there is a row of coded switches, it is a fixed code transmitter.

Conversion Modules

To determine if your garage door opener is compatible with the Car2U® System, enter your transmitter model number in the transmitter lookup feature. If the response states your opener is not compatible then you will need to utilize a Car2U® Conversion Module. The Car2U® Conversion Module controls any brand garage door opener.
